We're looking for suggestions for the calm, don't-push-yet stage of labor and the part where Kim will need something that throbs louder than her pain. See the comments for a rough list containing some songs we're considering. Some are sentimental, some funny, some we just like. What would you add? Please do tell. Obscure, old and off-the-wall are all welcome.

My first thought was Me First's cover of Danny's Song, but I see you already have that. Harumph. Oddly enough, I recently talked to Kenny Loggins and Fat Mike from me First about that.
OK, expect more songs to be added, but for right now.
Calm:
-Don't Worry Baby or God Only Knows by the Beach Boys
-Anything off Air's Moon Safari album
-Can't Smile Without You, Barry Manilow
-Heaven, Bryan Adams
-Baby, Don't Forget My Number, Milli freaking Vanilli
-Wild World, Cat Stevens
-Changes, David Bowie
-Lost In Your Eyes, Debbie Gibson
-Ordinary World, Duran Duran
-Tiny Dancer, Elton John
-More Than Words, Extreme
-I'll Catch You, the Get Up Kids
-Valentine, Old 97's
At the halfway point:
-Livin On a Prayer, Bon Jovi
In the throes of childbith:
-Welcome to the Jungle by Guns N Roses--I demand this one.

-Born to be My Baby, Bon Jovi
-Never Surrender, Corey Hart
-A Little Respect, Erasure
-Baby's Coming Back, Jellyfish
-100 Days, 100 nights, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings
Okay, here are a few suggestions from me:
Stay Up Late - Talking Heads
Pressure - David Bowie & Queen
Pressure - Billy Joel
You & Me Against the World - Helen Reddy
I am Woman - Helen Reddy
Bitch - Meredith Brooks / Alanis Morrisette
We are Family - Sister Sledge
Jump - Van Halen
Jump (for my love) - Pointer Sisters
Having My Baby - Paul Anka
Let it Be, Hey Jude - the Beatles
Imagine - John Lennon
Won't back down - Tom Petty
Cocaine - Eric Clapton
What a Feeling - Irene Cara
Maniac - Michael Sembello
Try a little tenderness - you pick the artist
Hurts so Good, Hand to hold onto, your life is now - John Cougar Mellencamp
Isn't she lovely - Stevie Wonder
I will stop with these; I could go on & on...and you already have some I would have also picked.
While I do love the Eric Clapton, Grandma suggesting Cocaine for her first grandchild's birth soundtrack? Hmmm....Not sure what to make of that!!
Just the beat of it, not the idea :>)
and who knows, maybe Kim (or Nick) will want some good (?) drugs at some point during labor.
Warm-up songs ---
Hold On - Wilson Phillips
"Yeah I know that there is pain
But you hold on for one more day and you
Break free, break from the chains"
Hold On - Sarah McLachlan
"Hold on to yourself
for this is gonna hurt like hell"
Labor songs ---
Down Under - Men at Work
You need a song by Men at Work - I mean that's how you got here in the first place, right?
Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming - Deep Purple
The title says it all.
Okay, I'm thinking a Motown/Stax theme here, for the old folks standing outside the delivery room, anxious to know what's going on.
For Kim, when she gives in and asks for painkiller - Dr. Feelgood, Aretha Franklin
...and when that baby just won't pop out - You Really Got a Hold on Me, Smokey Robinson
For the baby, when it's finally time - Hold on, I'm Comin', Sam and Dave
For Kim and Nick - right after the cord is cut - another Smokey - Baby, Baby, Don't Cry
Hooray, he's beautiful!- Baby Love, the Supremes
I think if Where You Lead by Carole King worked for the Gilmore Girls for a fantastic seven seasons of family bliss, it could work as a nice labor song.
Also, for some beat bumping songs, how about Sandstorm by Darude, 99 Problems by Jaz-Z (you already seem to have a connection with him) or Nookie by Limp Bizkit (self explanatory).
